Keeping with the vision of Terrakulture to promote the richness and diversity of Nigerian arts and culture, Terra Boutique was founded as the fashion angle of Terrakulture. It has attracted Nigerians and foreigners alike with its rich array of afrocentric items.
Presently housing Ituen Basi, the whimsical label of the fashion co-ordinator of Terrakulture, the brand boasts of peculiar Ankara designs and the re-invention of Nigerian culture through fashion reminiscent of the 60s. Ituen Bassey's avid attention to detail and her mastery of the African print have made her a roaring success earning her several awards including "the Most Innovative Designer of the Year” at Arise Africa Fashion Week, South Africa in 2009, "the African Emerging Designer of the year" in 2010 at Africa Fashion week, South Africa and “Most Creative Designer” at the recently concluded Arise Magazine Fashion Week 2011 in Lagos. Her popular fabric treatment and design interpretation have since begun a new season of unique Ankara designs. A graduate of London College of Fashion and American College, London, Ituen Bassey has reinvented African fashion and revived the love for African prints attracting a large following of both the young and new generation.
Aimas, also housed at the Terra boutique is a celebration of indigenous West African roots. Hand finished t-shirts and accessories embroidered with African fabrics celebrate the advancement of African-themed fashion. Aima's quirky take on fashion combines the past with the contemporary evident in the oddity of her cocktail hats, belts and other accessories in aso-oke, damask and African prints.
